About Us

At the end of 2020, I had just started my second year of university and was switching my major after a long indecisive year of what I wanted to do. I initially went into University enrolled in the Bachelor of Science program because I thought I wanted to become a plastic surgeon. Once I got in the program and finished the first couple courses I realized that the whole doctor thing wasn’t for me. I realized that I couldn’t go through a whole course without a slightly uneasy stomach. Anyways, I started to try a variety of courses from different fields until I fell into business courses. I loved every second of attending class and learning about all the different fields of business. This is when I changed my degree to business with a major in Marketing.

During this time I was working a part time job at my local Starbucks. This was one of the best places I have  worked but I was only working 10-12 hours a week because of school.I really wasn’t making much money just was making enough money to pay my monthly bills. This is when I started to feel bothered about my income. I did have the money to pay my bills but no money to spend on things I really loved, which was clothing.

After many years of attending high school and university and only working part time I came to the realization of how expensive clothing is. This was when I decided to take the decision and open up my boutique. On March 24 2021, was the day that I launched  my boutique. I wanted to provide a place for all the females that felt the same as me to shop. I knew that personally I had more confidence and felt better when I wore clothing that was new and trendy. However, I couldn't afford to buy the newest style of shirt that was $70.00 every month.

With $800 that I had saved, I ordered my first line of clothing. I had no funding and no certainty about the future but I was excited to start something that I was so passionate about. I focused on the material I was learning through school and applied my knowledge where I could. I started selling my products at local pop up markets. This is where I made most sales in the beginning of starting my business. It was great communicating with my community and learning many things for not only the community but other entrepreneurs in the community. I still look forward to these markets but I have aimed most of my focus fulfilling the needs of students worldwide.

Our Vision:

I started JKW because we want to provide a space for female students to shop and not have a worry in the world. Feeling comfortable and confident with yourself all starts with wearing clothing that makes you feel powerful. When we can’t afford to purchase these items regularly, sometimes it can take away from our confidence. We want to help you gain that confidence back by wearing clothing that makes you feel amazing.  We hope that you can feel confident about yourself everywhere you go.

HAPPY SHOPPING
